These two courses may be taken independently, but is more economical to be taken together. The majority of individuals wish to combine the 2 courses so that is how Edmonds Technical provides this training.

This is the instructor level certification course for Instructors wishing to teach the use of EAN-21 through one hundred (100) percent oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of forty (40) msw / one hundred and thirty (150) fsw using decompression procedures. The object of this course is to train Nitrox Instructors to teach the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for EAN-21 through one hundred (100) percent oxygen. This combined course also examines the theory, methods and procedures of planned stage decompression diving. The objective of this portion of the course is to train instructors how to plan and conduct a standard decompression procedures course not to exceed a maximum depth of forty five (45) msw / one hundred fifty (150) fsw. The most common equipment requirements, gear set-ups, deco-techniques and decompression mixtures are covered. Students are permitted to utilize Enriched Air Nitrox mixes or oxygen for decompression provided the gas mix is within their current certification level.

Duration: Approximately 2.5 days

Prerequisites for this course are:

  • Be a minimum age of eighteen (18).
  • Be a certified Instructor affiliated with a recognized SCUBA training agency.
  • Have a minimum certification of Advanced Nitrox Diver or equivalent.
  • Have a minimum certification of TDI Decompression Procedures Diver or equivalent.
  • Show proof of 150 logged open water dives.
  • Show proof of 25 Nitrox dives.
  • Must have certified 10 students in entry-level Nitrox.
  • Must have certified 10 students in SDI Deep Diver or Advanced Nitrox Diver or equivalent.
