This course combines what in the past has been two courses. This course is a Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid along with Emergency Oxygen administration combined into one program. It is designed to teach divers the proper techniques to safely administer CPR and evaluate and administer the correct First Aid for a given injury. It is also designed to teach divers the proper techniques to safely administer CPR and O2 in emergency situations.

The student will be qualified at the end of this specialty to:

  1. Recognize and evaluate an emergency situation and a victim.
  2. Know how to activate or alert the EMS.
  3. Be able to provide one (1) person adult CPR and administer the proper First Aid to a non-breathing or injured person.
  4. Be able to administer O2 to a breathing or non-breathing person.

It is important that the student understand that a re-qualification course is required every two (2) years.
