TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The TDI instructor course is designed to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for an individual to train certified divers in technical specialties in the open water environment. This 4 day (40 hour) program prepares the student for the Technical Instructor Evaluation Course (IEC). It covers theory, TDI standards and teaching techniques for both the classroom and water environments. The IEC can be scheduled immediately following this course. The IEC is an additional fee which is based upon the IEC Instructor and the number of Students.

Duration: Approximately 40 hours – 4 days. The IEC adds an additional day.

Prerequisites for this course are:

  • Be a minimum age of eighteen (18).
  • Hold a certification as an SDI Divemaster.
  • Hold Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Have a current medical examination.
  • Proof of fifty (50) logged open water dives.
  • Hold the Technical Diver Rating which they are applying for Divemaster certification in. For example: A TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver, who is also a Divemaster, may receive a Technical Divemaster rating up to Advanced Nitrox.

Cost: $1300 – The price includes TDI instructor registration fee, TDI SOP manual, Decompression Procedures Instructors guide, Advanced Nitrox Instructors guide, Advanced Nitrox PowerPoint and Decompression Procedures PowerPoint.
